VmWare server 2 Firefox browser plugin fixed msvcr71.dll

Ok, for those of you who experience the msvcr71.dll installation error on mozilla firefox in windows vista, I have tracked down the cause and now know how to fix it. This is due to Vista’s permission set on the c:\program files\mozilla firefox directory. Vista by default sets permissions that do not allow other programs/user to make changes to the directory structure. I isolated this issue and also added the trusted programs checkbox to the list of permissions. I saw certain reviews online of people bing a whiny little babies about how it doesn’t work, but these techs did not even look into the issue to provide a solution for those of us who need to use this. If you have any questions regarding this fix attach subject header vmware fix to your email and send to dustin@larmeir.com

I have added google’s translate bar to my site, it is a bit buggy but does the translation job quite well. If you would like to add this to your site you can visit http://www.google.com/translate_tools?hl=en and get the code there. I did this as I have many visitors outside of the United States and I welcome them with open arms
Above is the trailer for call of duty 4 modern warfare. I played this game for about a day straight and became addicted. I felt the game ended a bit too quickly however I haven’t seen a better action game in years. It is awe inspiring that the Playstation 3 renders this game so perfectly and that it runs without a hitch. I would strongly recommend this game to anyone with any platform. – Dustin
Oh yeah, and the trailer is not a movie, this is really how the game looks.
Had to follow it up with a even greater one!
LoL
I recently performed a debian install and had to take this screenshot. It is a L.A.M.P. Stacked server with no load, but yet even with no load on the server the usages was impressive.
Little did I know that just about 3 years ago, when I took the picture of these penguins, would they forever change my life. I looked at them, then thought of Linux, then got into a career path that altered the destiny of my life LoL! Strange isn’t it?

Vmware server 2 Platform – My Review thus far…….
0 Comments | Posted by dlarmeir in Past Blogs
I have seen many bad reviews on the net regarding the vmware server 2 platform. I think it works great. The web interface does appears to be a little clunky but it is still in beta so not ready for production enviornments. In my case I have backups of my blog so I do not worry if my vmware fails or not. I am currently running a debian 4.0 etch vm and this is what my blog is hosted on . My actual physical server runs CentOS 5 and I am also running a Windows 2008 server rc1 vm to test the up-and-coming IIS 7. I must say the web based Infrastructure management is cool. You can perform all of the functions you previously could through a ssl protected connection and it also has local virtual media capabilities and console plugins for the different browsers. I have noticed that the browser plugins do not seem to work well on vista ( I have yet to get IE or Forefox working properly with this plugin) however they do work well on Xp (I will be testing them on linux soon) I will be writing some more detailed write ups on my experience with running this new version and going over the install steps soon. Work has been pretty busy lately so I have had limited time to test. A good blog will be forthcoming – Dustin
